35 Years of Free Live Music for the Lake Martin Area
For the 35th year, the Alexander City Jazz Festival returns on June 13–14, 2025, celebrating a legacy of diverse live music and family fun by the lake. What began in 1991 as a small community concert has grown into one of the Southeast’s longest-running free-to-attend music festivals. Over the years, the festival has welcomed major acts, such as the Zac Brown Band and St. Paul & the Broken Bones, while also spotlighting emerging talent. This year’s two-night celebration takes place in downtown Alexander City and at The AMP on Lake Martin — and best of all, admission is entirely free. It’s genuinely one of the most anticipated fun Lake Martin area events of the summer.
A Community Tradition
Each summer, crowds gather under the stars to enjoy live music at two of the area’s most iconic venues: Strand Park and The AMP. From soulful jazz to blues, R&B, and indie rock, the Alexander Jazz Festival 2025 offers something for every music lover. Families bring blankets and lawn chairs, couples sway to the rhythm of the horns, in the evening breeze, enjoying live tunes. It’s a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere designed for locals and regional visitors alike.
Friday, June 13 – Strand Park, Downtown Alexander City
Friday night’s festivities kick off in the heart of downtown at Strand Park with a dynamic trio of performers.
Headliner: Jovin Webb
Louisiana-born Jovin Webb made a national impression as a Top 10 finalist on American Idol Season 18. His raspy, soulful voice earned comparisons to barbecue and bourbon, full of flavor and depth. Influenced by Southern blues and gospel, Webb’s music tells the story of struggle, perseverance, and a deeply rooted soul. Audiences can expect a stirring performance that blends rhythm and blues with a touch of Southern grit.

Special Guests: Jaimee Paul & Leif Shires
Jaimee Paul and her husband, Leif Shires, are a jazz duo with Nashville roots and a romantic story that’s as smooth as their sound. Jaimee, a former gospel singer, found her perfect musical and life partner in Leif, a skilled trumpet player. Together, they’ve performed across the U.S. and abroad, captivating audiences with elegant, expressive jazz that’s both classic and fresh. Their chemistry is evident on stage — an ideal opening to this night of music.

Saturday, June 14 – The AMP on Lake Martin
On Saturday night, the action shifts to The AMP, a stunning lakefront venue with views that match the music.
Headliner: Randall Bramblett & The Megablasters Horns
Randall Bramblett is a fixture in the Southern music scene, known for his lyrical depth and genre-crossing style. With a career spanning decades, he has shared the stage with legends like Steve Winwood and Gregg Allman, earning praise for his fusion of blues, soul, and rock. Backed by the Megablasters Horns, Bramblett’s performance promises a soulful, high-energy set that blends heartfelt storytelling with expert musicianship.

Special Guest: Doc Robinson
Columbus, Ohio’s Doc Robinson brings a splash of indie-pop and rootsy fun to the lineup. Their catchy tunes — affectionately described as “backyard BBQ breakup music” — have appeared on shows like The Walking Dead and BoJack Horseman. With tight arrangements and feel-good hooks, this duo will have the crowd grooving before sunset.

Music, Memories, and a Free Lake Area Experience
One of the most significant features of the Alexander Jazz Festival 2025 is its price tag: it’s completely free. This open-access approach fosters a welcoming and energetic atmosphere where everyone, from longtime residents to weekend tourists, can share in the joy of live music. Add in food vendors, local artisans, and some of the most beautiful lake views in Alabama, and it’s no surprise this music festival has become a summer staple.
Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for a memorable evening under the stars, the Alexander Jazz Festival 2025 is the perfect way to kick off your summer. Pack a picnic, bring a chair, and join us in celebrating 35 years of great music and community spirit.
