Christmas in Pennington Park: Nightly, December 1 – December 31, 4:30 pm-10:00 pm
If you’re looking for the ultimate quaint small town holiday experience, Christmas in Pennington Park is it! Pennington Park in downtown Dadeville is awash with lights during the month of December. Stroll through the park while you enjoy 100 Christmas light displays from community members, small businesses, and local organizations! Don’t miss Santa’s visit on Dec. 16 from 11 am to 1 pm!
Downtown Dickens Christmas: Friday, December 15, 5 pm to 8 pm
If you don’t mind a short drive, head to Wetumpka for the Downtown Dickens Christmas extravaganza reminiscent of a Victorian Christmas. Stroll through downtown Wetumpka stopping in the many businesses which will be open with their owners and hosting residents dresses in Victorian era costumes to make for a special evening. Activities include: photos with Father Christmas, horse-drawn carriage, artist and makers market, delicious food of all types, musicians and carolers, and a Christmas Storybook Walk. It is well worth the drive for this incredible event!
Main Street’s Third Thursday and Live Nativity: December 16, 4 pm to 6 pm
Don’t miss Main Street’s special Third Thursday event, featuring live jazz music by David Jones and the chance for some last-minute, late-night holiday shopping. Be sure to swing by the Bud Porch Center where The First United Methodist Church will recreate a Live Nativity scene, complete with livestock.
Saturday with Santa: December 16, 10 am to 12 pm
Join Main Street Alexander City for Saturday with Santa on December 16 starting at 10 am at 21 Main St, Alexander City.
Adult Christmas Musical at First Baptist Church Dadeville: December 16 and 17, 6 pm
Celebrate the joy of the season with this moving Christmas musical!
Hometown Christmas Market: December 16, 12 pm to 3 pm
Come out and see Santa at the Camp Hill Hometown Christmas Market at Mount Lovely Baptist Church. You love this quaint small town and will find lots of goodies including winter produce, homemade art, crafts, and hot cocoa for the kids. There will also be live music and food vendors. Best of all, the town Christmas parade follows at 3pm down Main Street!
Jingle Jump at Camp ASCCA: December 16, 1 pm to 3 pm
Head out to Camp ASCCA for the 9th annual Jingle Jump, the camp’s biggest fundraiser supporting the organizations summer camps serving children and adults with disabilities and providing therapeutic recreation. Don your Christmas attire and do some good this holiday season.
Lake Martin Lighted Boat Parade: Dec. 18 at 4:30 pm
How can you celebrate the holidays at the lake without a boat parade? Of course, you can’t! The Christmas Boat Parade will be a true spectacle with boats spreading holiday cheer across the water thanks to bright lights and festive holiday decor. The parade starts at 4:30 pm at The Social at Lake Martin and ends at Bluffs Daiquiri Bar at Harbor Point. You’ll be able to see the show from the shoreline or you can be a part of the fun and register your boat as part of the parade. For more information, email discoverlakemartin@gmail.com. Hand Bells Holiday Concert: December 19, 7 pm to 8 pm
Enjoy the Hand Bells Holiday Concert at the Dadeville Performing Arts Center! This special show is sure to fill you with plenty of Christmas spirit.
The Grinch Paint Party at Lake Martin Brewing: December 20, 6 pm to 8 pm
Lake Martin Brewing and Off My Easel Paint Parties hosts The Grinch Paint Party! Participants pay $35 and receive instruction on painting the grinch holding an ornament. All materials are provided.
Christmas Eve Celebration at the Church in the Pines: December 24, 5:30 pm
Reverend Mike Densmore will be leading the Christmas Eve Celebration held in the Children’s Chapel at 200 Kowaliga Marina Road, Eclectic, AL 36024.
