DON’T MISS THE POLAR PLUNGE SATURDAY, JAN 13
Don your favorite swimsuit, toboggan and gloves for the annual chilly jump into Lake Martin to raise money for preservation efforts of the lake. It’s time for one of our favorite events—the 2024 Lake Martin YP Polar Plunge presented by Lake Martin Dock Company Saturday, January 13, at Kowaliga Restaurant benefitting the Lake Martin Resource Association. The event doors open at 10 am with the Plunge at noon.
From the shores of Kowaliga Beach, hundreds of brave souls will dash into the water laughing and shrieking the whole way! With spectators cheering and clapping, it’s a wonderful way to spend a January day whether or not you actually take the plunge. We’re drawing straws here at Big Fish to see which team members will be the lucky ones to take the plunge!
The event supports and raises awareness for Lake Martin Resource Association’s mission of promoting, preserving and protecting Lake Martin. The $20 entry fee for Plungers includes access to food trucks and live music. For those who want to stay dry, you can purchase a Docker ticket with all the same benefits for $25! There is also the option to upgrade to Plunge Plus for $30.
Along with food trucks and live music, Kowaliga’s bars will be serving tasty beverages. The YP is also hosting Costume Contest with $100 prize for the best costume. You can also participate in the Dash for the Cash, a short race to a floating buoy and back to the shoreline immediately after The Plunge, with the winner taking home $100. Changing tents will be on-site to dry off and change clothes. Plungers should bring a pair of water shoes since the beach is a little rocky. Please note that tickets will also be sold at the door once online sales end on Friday, January 12. Here are the event times:
- Doors Open: 10 am
- The Plunge: 12 pm
- Event Ends: 4 pm
This year’s YP Polar Plunge promises to be a good time that you won’t want to miss. We hope to see you there!
